Description

This is a finished island bar back support piece designed to support the countertop overhang on the seating side of a kitchen island. It allows for larger overhangs while providing a rigid plywood structure beneath the countertop to help prevent cracking along natural stone seams. This is especially important for stone countertops, where internal fissures or weak points can expand over time and lead to failure during normal use.

The support piece mounts to the rear of the island and is typically installed from inside the island base cabinets using long, heavy duty structural screws such as LedgerLock style fasteners. Fasteners are not included.

Disclaimer

Wood legs are supplied at the full 34.5 inch standard height. We do not cut the legs to length, such as trimming them to 33 inches to accommodate a 1.5 inch thick plywood countertop support. Regardless of the cabinet height ordered, the legs will be shipped at the full 34.5 inch length. The installer must cut the legs on site to achieve the correct finished height under the top support.

Some wood species are not available for the legs. This includes Rift White Oak, as the legs are produced from plain sliced lumber. All wood species offered for the legs will be plain sliced, regardless of what the listed wood options state.

Materials
Doors are custom made and hand sanded in Oregon using high quality hardwoods.
Cabinet Cases are made in Oregon using globally sourced 3/4" thick birch plywood. Veneer is an ultra durable, baked-on UV clear finished real wood Birch veneer. Plywood core is a 3/4" thick core (11 ply, 9 ply, or 7ply, depending on availability).
Drawer Boxes are made in Oregon using globally sourced 5/8" solid Rubberwood finger joint lumber (clearcoat finished in a matte sheen, shipped fully assembled and notched for under-mount drawer slides, *dovetailed drawer box joints are left raw wood and will not have a finish applied).

Hardware
Hinges are made in North Carolina, Blum "Clip Top" Blumotion (soft closing, self closing)
Drawer slides are made in USA, BLUM Tandem+Blumotion, Under-mount, Soft-Close, full Extension, 100lbs capacity
All needed hardware for assembly is included with your order (includes assembly screws, shelf pins, hinge plates, etc)
*Knobs and Pulls are not included with any of our cabinets

Notes
*Construction holes will be visible on the sides, top, and bottom of the cabinet once assembled.
**Finished end panels (ordered separately) should be ordered to finish off the exposed cabinet sides after installation.
